Our largest specimen! The crowned basilisk is a powerful hunter with a selfward disposition. Boasting a lethal gaze and various venomous features, it carries an air of cunning and fierce confidence for those who dare to peek.
“Never again will I travel the austral desert, no, never. After a multitude of terrible misfortunes, our small company found signs of the basilisk.
With horses ready, plenty of distance, and a weasel companion, we were able to observe the ominous “little king” serpent. And how shocking! This was the most fearsome creature I’d encountered without contest and yet it was, in fact, spiked! What might prey from above on a basilisk…? Only one thing comes to my mind, but I’ll need to study further. From my armchair at home.”
Alasdair Graham - Tuesday March 11, 1856
This specimen has been mounted on a 1/8" brass rod with mounting décor as shown in the photo. The wood base is painted flat black and topped with our largest glass globe roughly twice the size of our other specimens.
