The archive has a history

According to the Mortimer & Gaunt records, the mercantile began in Edinburgh in 1848 after Thomas Mortimer and Philibus Gaunt discovered a shared fascination with the unusual. Their collection grew, disappeared into forgotten cellars, and eventually found its way back into the world.

The full account—including the hidden emporium, the sealed cellars, and the rediscovery of the collection—now has a place of its own.

ABOUT MORTIMER & GAUNT

Curiosities for shelves that deserve something stranger.

Mortimer & Gaunt is a curious mercantile built around one idea: fantasy should feel less like merchandise and more like physical evidence.

Behind the Archive

All our specimens are crafted by real people with a love for bone work, natural history, and dark fantasy.

Every creature begins here at Mortimer & Gaunt. We conceptualize and design each skull from scratch, then create every specimen individually in resin before weathering, finishing, and preparing it for the archive.

Because each specimen is finished by hand, you may notice differences in coloration, weathering, and other small details. No two specimens are exactly the same.

We hope you enjoy your new spooky friend as much as we enjoyed bringing it to life.
